female:pressure, a network for women in electronic music that I’m part of, has launched an awareness and solidarity campaign for the cantons of Rojava (located in northern Syria), where women participate on all levels of decision making and building a new society from scratch, with built-in social, racial and ethnic justice, religious freedom, ecological principles and equality between the sexes.
With a series of music, media and sound art to listen, dance and fight to, we would like to send our love and strength to these women and spread a positive message in support of their efforts. I’ve contributed with a remix of one of my own songs.
Also check out the other submissions. And if you’re a musician/producer yourself, why not get involved and contribute as well?
It took quite a while to move the domain, but here it is… my redesigned website, now fully responsive for your viewing pleasure even on mobile devices. Try it out! Pretty good, isn’t it? I hope you like the new design I came up with as much as I do.
While the summer slump is in full force with major heatwaves washing over us, here’s a little instrumental I recently made. It’s called “Epicycle” and is probably better suited for nighttime listening than on a hot summer day. What do you think?
Here comes the making of the song ‘Patchwork’ of my new EP with the same name. I talk about the meaning of the song and how I got from the original idea to the finished recording with footage of the process including sound bits. I hope you like it!
I’m DLS, a music producer from Luxembourg and I’m involved internationally in the music industry producing beats for singers and rappers, but I also release my own music projects. I’m focused on Hip Hop but I can produce a wide range of music genres. Currently I work on a mixtape with Dub Fx and on songs with Ice Mc, 90es Euro Dance legend.
James is currently working on his own songs, but has done a ton of remixes. While most remixes tend to become more electronic than the original, his take the songs into a Rock and Pop direction which always catches you by surprise. A mashup style between cover version and remix, you could say.
A few years ago I would have been able to be pretty concise with this – I would’ve said I’m a writer and actor. These days, as the search for Self continues, I’m less certain. I swim competitively year-round with a U.S. Masters swim team in Los Angeles… and I’m not really happy unless I’m making or working toward something creative.
